Anyway, like I said they won, and made with the crazy acceptance speech. Anthony Kelidis (never can spell that man's name) had stuck the award down his trousers, the drummer was drumming and the other two were doing handstands in the background.

So anyway since they can't be there in person and it was for best live band so they showed them playing 'By The Way' somewhere. Not that I'm certain that it was 'By The Way', because my mind had gone to different places.

Thingymagigy the guitarist (don't ask me to spell his name) was playing in the middle of the stage and Flea gets down on his knees (quite how you do that without choking yourself on your bass strap is beyond me). And kisses Frusciante's hand. Not a rather over the top simulation of oral sex, not even an under the top simulation of oral sex, just a peck on the hand.

And I thought how sweet it was. Utterly and completely sweet.

Trying to reconcil my normally cynical self with the person who ended so astounded by aformentioned sweetness that she nearly hugged everyone in sight.

Yes, they are far too cute for words. It's like their interviews are so beyond cute that they get read out and my mother goes 'Aww bless'. This is not a good sign.

I'll believe you, 'cause it looks right.

(Here's to hoping that I managed to catch that bit on the tape)
