I don't know how much people know about the British education system, but basically, you can't get into university without filling out an UCAS form. I hate the UCAS form. Or rather, I hate the personal statement part of it.
I live my life trying to avoid the topic of me, I am other people's Boswell. Basically, I'd rather think about other people, because they're way more interesting than me, so it's a bit of a trial.
I tried being honest rather than passing myself off as a mixture of Mother Theresa and Stephen Hawking in Marion Jones's body.
So I see my higher education adviser, who tells me to re-do my personal statment because I'm not being positive enough. Hello, sir, I'm being as positive as I can be. I was brought up to be a perfectionist, and since I'm not it, I will gripe, so it's not out of character that my p.s is hardly sellling myself hard.
