Fic Writing

So I've been trying to write this Crimson/Matt Morgan fic, but it's stuck in the transition from the second to the third section. Because of the way the to-write pile has worked out, the next fic that's been moved to 'actually working on' is the fic that's supposed to, theoretically, be the sequel to the first one. It's not a direct sequel, in the sense that there's no direct references to stuff that happens in the first one, but it's what I think Hollywood calls a spiritual successor. And so I'm writing, but what's coming out is a perfectly acceptable gen fic, and I don't know whether I ought to write both the gen and slash versions and then see which comes out better and only post that.

I suspect people are not going to like what I have Mystique do in the last part of Becoming, but I think I see her as a lot more ruthless than a lot of X-Men fandom, *and* I like that about her. But then again, I still see First Class and Days of Future Past as Mystique: Origins part 1 and 2.
