Blake's 7: - Nothing Beside Remains I'm not sure what the technical term is for in-universe documentation fic but this is one of those. And it is perfect. And it captures all that is evil and wrong about the Federation, and that history is written by the winners.
Doctor Who: - The Care and Feeding of Tiny Humans (and slightly larger Time Lords) Mildly AU, but wonderful Eleventh Doctor and young Amy Pond characterisation.
Rome: Not unbecoming men that strove with Gods I love the characterisation in this too. An older, slightly mellowed Pullo and an Octavian who is Augustus now and can't quite forget it but still becomes Octavian again around Pullo and yes. This is good.
X-Men: Self Defense (One Black Man, Two White Men, One Jew, Two Homosexuals, and Three Mutants in a Taxi) Still one of my favourite First Class fics. It gives Darwin some lovely characterisation (I want to have a beer with this guy) and conveys both sides of Xavier and Magneto's argument without either of them being right or wrong. Also, Darwin's description of Magneto is yet to be bettered.
Cross-Overs:
Yes Minister/Star Wars: Yes, Dark Lord It works, it works wonderfully. And manages to get both canons right.
