30 Days of Torchwood Meme - Day 12 - Favourite Couple Scene

I've already mentioned the truck scene of great joy, but it's a perfect example of what I like about Gwen and Rhys. He keeps her grounded while she's busy saving the planet. I'm not sure if they're deliberately an inversion of the usual "hero" trope where he's weighed down with saving the world and she's the earthy, sensible one.

They're this oasis of normal amid the messed up-edness that is Torchwood.

And it's not blindly backing each other up, they will (and do) point out when the other one is being unreasonable.

X-Men: Last Stand

At least we know where the superhero films colon habit comes from.

I realised I needed to rewatch it to actually write part 4 of Becoming. There was no getting out of it. And trust me I tried, because, with the honourable exception of Beast, I agree with angstbunny that this was made by the Despair Squid.

I think it's because all the characters are at the very least a little off*, like I don't remember Pyro being that much of a jerky dweeb in X-2, and Bobby would never.**

Thankfully I didn't have to watch the whole thing (just enough to, as per usual, find myself going 'why are you writing the Brotherhood so badly?') because the chapter menu exists. Eventually, if you jailbreak it and use CyberDrive or whatever the blasted programme is really called, and you can actually see a proper menu, because unfortunately, on the actual root menu, they've decided to be arty. No good comes of arty. Ever.

*I have my own fanon as to why Magneto does the thing he does that we all want him not to have done, but it doesn't help with the feel of the film when you have to come up with convoluted explanations for why people did things.

** Literally the only explanation I could come up with to explain the Bobby/Kitty thing was the writers wanted an excuse to write Gambit/Rogue in the X-4 that never happened. And when someone who 'ships Gambit/Rogue like crazy objects to the idea in this 'verse, it's a bad sign.
