Yet More Football
May. 14th, 2014 06:15 pm(Advanced warning - the World Cup is almost upon us so I will go a little footie mad for the next two months.)
Some general comments:
I am sad to see Tim Sherwood go. To quote Ben Dirs "The thing is, Tim Sherwood did alright - didn't he? Sometimes, I'm not sure what Tottenham want from life." I also liked how he dealt with the obnoxious fan at the last game.
Torres really has reached the barndoor with a banjo stage.
As far as I can see Liverpool need a defence (as do United), Chelsea need a striker and Arsenal could do with a second striker and cover for Ramsey. Admittedly Chelsea do have a wonderful striker. They just keep loaning Lukaku out to other teams.
Hodgson not taking Ashley Cole is unexpected. Very unexpected. I didn't have him in the starting 11 but he was in my 23.
The City fans with the "here's to you Vincent Kompany, City love you more than you could know" banner deserve all the love.
The BBC World Cup trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKQPUAkCe7c) also deserves much love.
I also love Gus Poyet (stray thought from mid-week - Lugano is probably old enough to have played with Poyet on the Uruguayan team).
I am feeling old. Not only are 'the kids with whom you will never win anything' now retired and becoming managers but Javier Zanetti who does not age has retired.
