Because my RL is both busy, science-filled and boring (unless you want 20 minute discussions on the best way to present data).
26 – What is the oddest (or funnest) thing you've had to research for a fic?
A lot of the things under the "questions" tag are Ameri-picking US-cultury questions, because the Bill Bryson* quote about "two countries divided by a common language" is so very true.
There are things I have researched for the 50 Kinky Ways fics that mean I am very tempted to have "please wipe my search history" written into my will.
I remember looking up what a samurai would wear as underwear, and getting bunnies for another fic (which is still in the 'to write' pile). Wrestling, of course, leads to you trying to research exactly who had what match where and who was interfering with what and so on, not discussing the time I had to move Christmas to avoid interfering with a fic.
The only thing worse than googling wrestlers to remember their timing and plots is doing the same but for X-Men characters. Apparently there are now 3 Thunderbirds and 2 Masterminds.
* Okay probably not him at all, but he's who I have it associated with. In the spirit of the question I looked it up and no-one knows but there's a lot of people blaming George Bernard Shaw.
