Meme and some mutterings

Title of the first post each month:
January - Fic - The Moth Don't Care If The Flame Is Real (1/1)
February - Fic-bit - Claustrophobia
March - The Play's Afoot
April - Back from Germany
May - Back from Bath
June - RL
July - The Things We Do Not Say (Part 6)
August - Further Inception Thoughts
September - Fic and a Video Rec
October - Oh FFS!
November - Writer's Block: You can't take that away from me!
December - RL, football, music, film
You know what I see there - a shameful lack of fencing-related posts. Although it does show evidence of my determination to post at least 12 fics (or chapters of longer fics) this year.

Fantastically interesting link (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-11879532) about the Ghanaian tradition of elaborate coffins. My favourite is the aeroplane - "This aeroplane coffin, made in 1951, was the first such coffin in Ghana. Made by brothers Kane and Adjetei Kwei, the coffin was their final gift to their 90-year-old grandmother who had never been in a plane but told them she often day-dreamed of flying."

On to the more muttery aspects of this post:
What is generally meant by "classic" film? I just wonder for the meme, because while I'm not up to that question yet, I have a feeling that that's going to be one of those definitions that shifts depending on the age of the user.
Also, why couldn't the new Star Trek film describe its aliens better. It makes writing background details so much harder. I am having to resort to the random alien species ploy, which is never fun.
