Because 2 days of fencing with maybe 8 hours of sleep does not lead to functional brain time.

1) People who don't like vuvuzelas have no soul. They want to turn SA2010 into every other tournament, take away the local flavour. If you can't hear the commentators over them, that suggests the broadcaster has done a terrible job preparing their commentary booth. I've had no such problem with the BBC (I've not been listening to the ITV coverage, drowning them out would be a good thing), even with Robbie "mumbles" Savage.

2) This article - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/world_cup_2010/8737971.stm

Dear Asamoah Gyan, I <3 you so much right now.

3) Ray Parlour got bumped up to absolute class at the sports awards anyway, but he then did something else even better. So, giventhat he was wasted above and beyond the call of duty, one of our sports council decided to try and take advantage of him, and ask for some gossip, more particularly that he had to know which Premiership players were gay.

So Ray Parlour goes "well, yeah, but I ought not say." A bit more pushing and he goes, "well, yeah, if you promise not to tell anyone, I'll whisper it in your ear". So idiot sports council member does so, and Ray Parlour goes "me". And sticks his tongue down idiot sports council bods throat.

This, I believe, is the ultimate answer to that question.

Because it's a one-stop shop for all your news needs, and, and this the thing that makes me love it even more, it will annoy Rupert Murdoch, and anything that annoys him is a good thing.

It also has some of the best sports coverage in the world. Frequently I "watch" sports via their text service rather than on TV. That's how good it is.

Also, music meme:

Day 05 - A song that reminds you of someone

Actually, all of Employment by the Kaiser Chiefs reminds me of my old housemate N.

The first song of theirs I heard was 'Oh My God (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54DtVXjk2jY)' on CD:UK, and I fell in love. I had to have more of this band. One of the other tracks off this album was on the NME 'Best of' CD for the year. That track was 'Na Na Na Na Naa' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMViPKkRImk&feature=channel). I played it to my housemate N because it was the only track of theirs I had to hand. Her reaction was 'that's not music'. Then 'I Predict A Riot' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84qWb8i_Q_A&feature=channel) was released. She was hooked. So yeah, Kaiser Chiefs converted a bhangra and RnB fan to indie. N went to see them live at Brixton. She said it was a fantastic night. I was talking to her one night, and she'd left this playing quietly in the background. We went to talk to our other housemate N, and 'Time Honoured Tradition' came on, but so quietly the second N couldn't hear it. According to her, the two of us breaking simoultaneously into the chorus was wierd and freaky ;)

Sadly I called that result for my fantasy football thing. I'd rather have had three points for Italy than for me.

I don't quite agree with the Corriere Della Sera, they said that it was the worst Italian team ever to be sent to the world cup, I have reasonably low expectations. It makes my life easier.

Rumour has it that Buffon was subbed off for a sciatic nerve injury flare up. Which is bad. But at least baby goalie part 2010 is good. (Happy positive thoughts)

For the other games, Jan Molby still has a Scouse accent when commentating, and I said Japan weren't bad.

I also said Dirk Kuyt was good. Because he'll run up and down that pitch until he drops and will chase every ball. Today it lead to a goal. It's not his fault that Liverpool are terrible.
