It's still weird not having this as the first GP, although, unlike some others, I can't really complain because I'm the generation that can remember the Aussie GP being at Adelaide and it being the last race of the season. That being said, while I'm aware of the unofficial reason for having Bahrain as the first GP of the season (money, money, money), was there ever an actual reason for the move?

It was fun, even if my Mum told me who won beforehand. I am especially pleased with Kubica, mostly because that there Renault has no power (not in comparison to the McLarens and the Ferraris) and he was keeping them behind him, even in the straights, by sheer driving awesome. I hope he gets in a good car soon.

If I hear one more person snickering about Schumi being in 10th, I will go crazy. 1) 2nd race back. 2) Lousy car. 3) Got attacked by the Button/Alonso maelstrom at the start and therefore had an extra pitstop at the least fortunate part of the race. oh and 4) signed on to be 2nd driver to Rosberg. He knew he wasn't going to be winning anything this year, and, this bit is personal opinion, I strongly suspect he is being groomed for a move upstairs by Ross Brawn, being as Schumacher is probably the only person who can keep up with RB.

Once again, one of the most interesting things about the race was the radio transmissions. In between some unfortunate at Mercedes having to give Schumacher the hurry-up (see also - jobs I would not want, not for all the gold in Fort Know), and Lewis Hamilton throwing a radio-strop (yes, Lewis, we know they goofed up, but they were trying, now put your toys back in the pram), we also had the great amusement of a race engineer telling his driver how to drive, and yes, I know it's just how Smedley and Massa roll, but it's still v. funny.

Lotus also did well, and while I know they're not the "real" Lotus team, they do still have the prettiest car on the grid, so I'm happy - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Heikki_Kovalainen_2010_Bahrain.jpg

Now if only Red Bull could fix their reliability issues.
