Warning - awful French contained within.

Le Tour.

Mais ça se peut Normandie. Ma Maman habite en Liseux pour la studie de l'universite.

L'art, le culture, la cuisine, le Francais.

Mais non le francais.

Because really, there is no other roman alphabet language that gives me that amount of trouble after I've learnt it.

(In translation, I love the Tour best, but perhaps I love Normandie more (my Mum studied there for a year, at Liseux). I love the art, the culture the food. But not the language.)

Also, for some reason, they're doing a v. flat, not breakaway-friendly stage on the 14th. Dear Tour organisers, are you trying to make sure there's no Bastille day French winner.

Apparently I underestimated the ASO's sneakiness. The Bastille day stage is one of the two where team radio is forbidden. This is a great idea, so great that even the ASO and UCI agree on the topic.

Bit of Cancellara squeaking - "Cancellara Gives Arvesen A Feed...
Arvesen didn’t take a feedbag in Glenic but now his colleague Fabian Cancellara is emptying the contents of his ’musette’ and handing it to Arvesen."

(Arvesen fell off, he's called for the race doctor, things are not looking good.)

Racing update - Of the 4 leaders, 3 of them are French, and the lone Russian, knowing exactly what they're up to is racing v. cleverly.

Musicals

Apparently the unstoppable Barrowman is playing Albin in the musical version of La Cage Aux Folles (picture here - http://bluerosefairy.livejournal.com/145625.html). It pleases me that his Albin makes a slightly worse woman than me, even if she's slightly too trashy for Zaza, but dude, he could knock that one right out of the park because if ever a role played to his strengths ...

I still love the film far too much to want to see the musical though. (By the by, the Birdcage is a terrible remake.)

Other than that, I was reading the Times yesterday and the new Fagin for the West End Oliver is Omid Djalli, which could be awesome. Any way, read the rest of the advert, and Burn Gorman is playing Bill Sykes, which, while he might be short, he should get away with, because I'm reasonably sure he can be malign enough.

I like Oliver, Mum can't stand it, mostly because 1) I know the words to most of the songs, and 2) it's one of the few musicals where most of the songs are in ranges I can actually sing in.
