While reading about various people travails in regards to players leaving, I felt I should add my own team's major woe. Our beloved Captain Fantastic is leaving. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_league/super_league/st_helens/7626335.stm
Paul Sculthorpe, the aforemention Captain, then decided to retire rather than join another club, mostly because his knees are shot to pieces.
I also present a pictographical representation of his career, care of the BBC - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_league/7626458.stm
It makes me sad that he's retired, particularly because I can remember him as the wunderkid, and as the most expensive signing in UK League (at that time), but he's more than paid us back. There's also a strange sort of happy feeling that he isn't joining another team, because I just don't have it in me to cheer against him, and I don't think most of the fans do either.
