Mar. 17th, 2008 03:49 pmAnd now we have to suffer through the yearly 'you shouldn't celebrate St. Patrick's because it's devisive/sectarian/stereotyping the Irish/any number of other things'.
To which my reply is as such - I would also willingly celebrate:
Saints David, Andrew, George and Leopold (http://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=301), also Edmund Arrowsmith, very late of St. Helens (http://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=270) and Cecilia and Jude.
I will also happily celebrate Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Eid, Kwanzaa, Hanuka, Novratri, Divali, Uncle Tom Cobleigh and all. Also Bastille Day, and Independence Day, and Austrian National Day (26th October).
Give me half an excuse and I will celebrate it.
