Local politics, music and technology
May. 2nd, 2007 10:40 pmDon't worry nothing serious so its not being filtered. This is probably only of interest to nhw, but here's what the various parties have done around ours:
1) Endless leaflets from the Labour party.
2) Both the Tories and the Greens managed to call while we were out. The Greens apologized for calling when we weren't in. The Tories left a card.
3) One leaflet from UKIP, which, when you consider they're a minor party isn't too bad.
4) Especially given the showing from the Lib Dems which is also one leaflet. I mean, given that they're trying to catch the government and Leicester is one of the places they could make large gains(large ethnic minorities various, also students various, all looking for someone non-Labour to vote for) its incredibly bad planning. Come on people, I'm wanting to, I'm waiting to, I'm willing to kick the boot into Tony and they're doing naff all.
5) However, the Labour party racked up negative points for being the only people to use smear campaiging - the Libs and the Tories being the same if they get power at local government level. This may be true (and in Leicester at least, is true, especially give the Cllr. Blackmore controversy) but still, points off for being negative.
I should point out that I'm voting Green for my own personal reasons unless the Socialists have put up a candidate and just haven't bothered telling people, which much though I love them, wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.
I'm clearing out my music folder on my laptop to try and stop it from dying a painful death before its time. This is fun work.
However, my mp3 player is also dying so I'm looking for reccomendations for decent mp3 players if anyone has any.
