Feb. 8th, 2006 06:24 pmI'm sure some if not all of you have heard of Brit-picking, helping fic writers out by changing Americanisms into a suitable British idiom, well I need the opposite. I'm writing a fic for the 50KinkyWays thing and I've suddenly realised how many Britishisms I use and I want to eliminate them.
The phrases in question are:
"Randy had felt a fool"
"carefully avoiding the family jewels"
Are they acceptable American English or can anyone suggest different suitable phrases?
