Jun. 10th, 2005 08:29 pmBack home. Have eaten.
Am being spoilt rotten, Nan bought William Regal's autobiography for me and Mum got me a Dalek poster. Feeling very guilty but have brought home tributes, in the form of my 3rd place from the individual sabre and some proof that I actually do work at uni (my Micro stuff from this term).
I want to get through Stuart Pearce's autobiography. I've only just read the introduction and I'm all ready even more in love with him than I already was. (BTW, in my mind, Pearce > every other sports person ever, with the exception of Muhammed Ali for obvious reasons)
There was a really cool bit, about his wife saying something after the Euro 1996 penalty against Spain (you know, the one he got in the net) asking why he always seemed to be the one on the spot and he said - 'Because I wouldn't want to send a mate out to face it in case he missed.' Want to snuggle him so much.
(Explanation for the football-challenged - Stuart Pearce missed a penalty in the 1990 World Cup semi-final, he knows about how much missing them hurts.)
