What I was in the middle of saying
Sep. 14th, 2003 12:36 amwhen Mum chucked me off the computer
Oh yeah, CD:UK, best music programme at the moment
Well for one they had Fran Healy from Travis, Sharleen Spiterri of Texas and Justin Hawkins from the Darkness discussing new releases. And one was a video for a soap star's new song. And off course she was wearing very little in the video. So the discussion moved on to women's place in the music industry, the evils of the music industry and artistic license.
Plus hey, they gave me Travis and the Darkness back to back. Not going to quibble. Especially when Justin (lead singer with the Darkness) was wearing a tail. Yes, a big shiny pinky purple tail.
And the Travis song - well the idiot critics will say there is no change in sound. But there is. It's a lot more ethereal now. Something brighter, clearer, more fragile. Like an icicle.
It's always nice to see a band you remember when they were small get big.
Other than that, Uncle Ste came round, was fun, then went all prat like, and then was fun again. I will forgive him like I always do, but some payback way down the line is called for. Wait till he's the weak one and then get him to back down. In front of witnesses.
(Sorry, it should be pointed out that my family all love each other dearly. We just don't like each other much.)
