Ten Possibly Unpopular Opinions

redfiona99That I'm a wrestling fan and have to limit myself to ten is amusing. Actually, it's a mish-mash of wrestling, X-men, some miscellanious odds and sods and LOTR
1) HHH is not the anti-Christ. He doesn't wander around the locker-room laughing evily and pointing out his next victim to be held down. Yes, he's a guy who uses his brain to maintain his position and status, but heck, don't we all.
2) Just because John Heiderach and Matt Morgan are tall and new, and not the greatest wrestlers in the world is no reason to give up hope for them.
3) Vince McMahon is not Satan. He does not deliberately endeavour to destroy anyone. He makes stupid decisions all to frequently that's all.
4) Gambit and Rogue may be all played out and even fans like me get a little seasick from the constant on-offing but what else are they going to do with the characters.
5) I don't want to see a remake of Blake's 7. Nor do I want to see this strange sequel they're intent of making. Leave it alone.
6) I don't want Eddie Izzard as the new Doctor. In fact, I don't want a famous face at all. I want someone new and fresh. If they don't want someone new and fresh either completely write out the movie, or make the new Doctor Paul McGann. I don't want them to waste a regeneration. Tom Baker should however be cast as Rasilion.
7) I realise Faramir is sweeter, kinder, less corruptible, nicer, less likely to try and kill random people and all round better, but I still prefer Boromir damn it. Although my Mum made a good point when she wondered if the same would still be true if Sean Bean hadn't played him. Possibly not. But then again, casting decisions are supposed to influence the way you feel, otherwise they wouldn't have casting directors.
8) Denethor is not evil. He is unspeakably messed-up and disturbed (not to mention disturbing). He is cruel, unspeakably cruel. But not evil. He's a broken old man. That's his tragedy.
9) Boromir is also not evil. Okay not an unpopular opinion but I do wish teenies writing LOTR fic would stop casting him as the evil would-be rapist.
10) Arwen's part needed to be expanded otherwise no one would know why Aragorn was marrying her rather than Eowyn.
