Fic Alert

In which I foolishly write TNA gen fic starring AMW -

Dear WWE, what has happened to all your tag teams? I finally get an interesting idea for a gen tag team fic and you don't have any long established ones. And I can't use the Dudleys since they're brothers, for all intents and purposes, and that involves a dynamic other than that which I want to write.

Also dear WWE, you are idiots. Why did you release, and before that not do anything, with one of the cruiserweights that can talk as well as wrestle.

EEE! EEE! EEE!!!

TNA FIC!!!

Yeah, okay, I've been obvious with my apathy for AMW, but there IS a wealth of stories that can be told about them, and I'm always appreciative of that, and I'm appreciative of the story that you did write for them, because that WAS an interesting time for AMW - Harris getting that titleshot and Storm out with the shoulder. It makes for potential friction, but Storm has always been unfailingly by Harris' side despite the fact that he seems headed for Marty Jannetty-ville. And you showed that really nicely. The cohesiveness of a tag team that isn't based on blood, but on just basic loyalty of one person to another. There is caring, and there is affection, and I like that this is gen. It would be easy to make it slashy, but you didn't, and I liked that too.

May I pretty please archive this? :D

Poor AMW don't seem to get a lot of 'net loving.

Thanks. That's the thing I like about AMW, they're very much a tag team and one unit even if one of them is doing something else at the time. I've always liked that in stories like Robin Hood where they're all unfailingly loyal no matter what.

I'm glad the affection came through. It's fics like this that make me wish that English was like Greek and had different words for different kinds of love because English is sorely lacking.

I'm starting to think I'm utterly unable to write AMW slash, 'cause there's a distinct lack of vibe. It far more best of friends/closer than brothers and so on.

I'm also really glad you liked it even though AMW are not your cup of tea.

>>May I pretty please archive this? :D<< Sure, as long as there's a disclaimer and my name on it, I'm not fussy.

Awww, really? I tend to avoid just about any sort of wrestling forum these days, so I have no idea what the popular opinion on AMW is. But I coulda sworn that people liked Chris Harris a lot, though I guess liking him is different from liking AMW. Have you seen/joined [livejournal.com profile] tna_fangirls? It's not very active, and it's mostly fangirlism, but it's kinda fun.

Yeah, exactly. Gotta admit that I liked that about them, and how they're portrayed. They (writers, bookers, whatever) could've easily pushed for a tag team split when they started pushing Harris towards singles, but they didn't, and I liked that. It's so easy to do the jealousy angle, but harder and more subtle to maintain the loyalty.

YES!!!!!! YES YES YES!!! Oh man, you have no idea how much I lament this. As much as I adore English sometimes, it's really lacking in certain areas. The word "love" is definitely a major example.

It far more best of friends/closer than brothers and so on.

*nodsnods* That's the vibe I get, too. There are occasional moments, but it never really lasts. They just don't strike me as slashy.

Sure, as long as there's a disclaimer and my name on it, I'm not fussy.

YAYAYAYAY Thank you!!! :D

I'm probably looking in the wrong places then.

They also helped themselves by doing the whole 'Is he ready for this?' bit. That meant that they could have Storm backing him without him looking less convincing.

My old English teacher introduced me to the idea while we were studying Romeo and Juliet. And then we covered it a little in RE, because of the whole 'Faith, Hope and Charity/Love' bit.

You're welcome.
