(no subject)

Watched the tape of Friday's Top of the Pops. Apparently the BBC screwed up the sound on the late night showing. Which means they've fucked up the sound on Saint Anger, and even worse, the Gary Numan track. This is bad.

Just watched Mortal Kombat. Surprisingly good. And Rayden and his odd sense of humour. The bad news is that I think I'm starting to harbour a crush on Christopher Lambert.

And they're showing MK2 next week. Which I have already seen and enjoyed, and intend to do so again.

You know what has really got my goat. The idiot presenter of the so-called punk rock show on Radio One was saying how odd it was that Rancid's new album would be put out on a major label. Well guess what the original punk bands the Sex Pistols and the Clash et al were all on major labels. It did not make them an inch less punk, but then again, he probably wouldn't know that because he's the sort of idiot that calls Blink 182 punk rock. They aren't, they're what I call punk-pop. A fine genre in and of itself but not punk rock.

In a similar but less angry vein, I really like the new Bowling For Soup song.

Film, fic pimping and rambling, football, music and school randomness

I fear I may have squeed at Christopher Lambert. I realise this is sick and wrong, but I couldn't help it. He was being all roguish and slightly villianous. And he and the other main character (played by Mario Van Pebbles) are robing this store and Christopher Lambert's character goes "Strip." And the other guy says, "That wasn't in the plan." "No, but it should have been." Of course Van Pebbles's character stops him but still :)

New fic up at http://disc.server.com/discussion.cgi?id=200258;article=177 "Lei Sa Che Lei Vuole Baciarme"

And will have part 2 written soon. Just not certain if I should post it at SML because it isn't exactly slash. It's more background, interesting but not vital. I might just put a link up.

Celtic beat Liverpool. Which is both good and bad. Because I like Celtic because the strip reminds me of my beloved Rapid. But I like Liverpool too. And Vlad the Impaled is going to get it again tomorrow even though the first goal was all Steven Gerrard's fault. And it wasn't a free kick to begin with.

Got last week's Kerrang with free CD, it's mainly the new retro rock cool and death metal stuff, but some of it is quite good. "Rubber and Glue" buy Cave In, "Come" by the Mad Capsule Markets, "Get In Or Get Out" by Hot Hot Heat, "The Heart of Darkness" by HIM and "There Only Is" by Vendetta Red are all good and 5 out of 16 isn't too bad for a free CD.

Finally cracked the chem. graph problem. Whee hee.
