Torchwood

MASSIVE SPOILERS THROUGHOUT

OMG!! You b*(&$%^s you killed Owen.

OMG!! You b"£$%^&s BBC Cardiff, you killed Owen. Damn you all!

On a slightly less ... emotional ... front the following things were done pretty darn well.

1) Captain John. I know I big up James Marsters at every available opportunity but he did a bang up job because he managed to convey that there was something very wrong with John who we'd barely met. And how little he was enjoying the carnage, poor little chaotic blighter though he is.

And the business with the ring. Oh he's a bright little devil-spawn. See also getting the weevil call back call out.

2) Jack! Oh Jack! Barrowman is not a great actor but he does some things well. Today was a good episode for him. I want to hug him at the end.

3) They didn't kill Rhys. This should not be a selling point for an episode but it was.

4) Tosh and she was competant and she hid that she was injured and, I'm sorry but I think I'm in love. And she nearly had a plan for saving the entirety of Cardiff.

5) Owen. Oh God. And he panicked of course he did and I'm sorry but Burn Gorman is the best actor on this show and dudes ... I may not be over this for some time.

6) The two of them finally having a heart to heart and ... no really, I'm not going to be over this at all for a long time.

7) Tosh's video at the end. It reminded me of something, and I can't think what. I want to say it's 9/Ecclestone's last speech (by the way, Tosh, you were fantastic) but I'm not sure.

Not that it was perfect or anything because

The brother could have been built up better or written better. And the end shot of an utterly undamaged Cardiff was a little stupid. Also Jack, I thought you were the one character I could trust to do what was necessary and kill people, especially at this point, your brother. I also refuse to believe letting Captain John out on his own is a good thing. And could they have thought up a worse death for Owen if they tried.

I have heard rumours of them replacing the dear departed with Martha and Mickey, which I could live with. But I've also heard rumour of them trying to change the tone of Torchwood, which I would not be down with. I don't want Dr. Who Junior, I want Torchwood, and my favourite cast of screw-ups and delinquents.

If they want to change the tone, say that Torchwood will now focus of TW: London and only mention the Cardiff lot in passing. That would satisfy everyone, surely.

As a related rumour, I also heard about a possible reduction in the amount of Jack, and while I live in hope that they're going to have him haring off with Captain John, I fear the worst.
