R stats help

Hoping [personal profile] ioplokon might have an idea. Trying to follow the instructions here: https://statsbomb.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Working-with-R.pdf

I get as far as this

install.packages("devtools")
install.packages("remotes")
remotes::install_version("SDMTools", "1.1-221")
Then, to install StatsBombR itself, run:
devtools::install_github("statsbomb/StatsBombR")

And then I get the following error message:

Downloading GitHub repo statsbomb/StatsBombR@HEAD
Error: Failed to install 'StatsBombR' from GitHub:
Git does not seem to be installed on your system.

Suggestions gratefully received

have you installed git? :p

eta: assuming yes, my first step would be to check what folders all the installs are in - sometimes your directory structure can get in the way of programs 'seeing' each other...
