TNA
Last week was a false dawn. Again. (I am like Eeyore crossed with a groundhog.)
Part of the problem is due to the way they have to film several Impacts back to back, so there's set-up and then a long wait for pay-off (i.e. I would like to see Magnus's attempts to murderise Storm, but I can't because they've already had their bit for this taping and ... it frustrates me).
This week's also had that feeling of middle-era TNA, where they were/are going for "anything could happen in the next half hour" but it's coming across as "no-one has the first clue what's going on".
I feel mean, because the wrestlers and the wrestling, when it got going, was sound. (As I said, this sounds horrible familiar.)
Loved the set up for Angle vs Hardy.
Less yay is quite how throwaway the X-Division has become. Random belt colour changes, they do nothing. Matters are not helped by this being the first time I've heard Tigre Uno speak. It's hard to pull for (or against) people who I know nothing about. Also, why aren't the rest of the BDC coming out to help Low-ki. What happened to the BDC trying to win everything? (BTW, if the dirtsheets are right, my paranoia about them just forgetting their plan for the BDC is justified.)
Wolves vs Dirty Heels, excellent. I <3 Aries and Roode bitching about having to wrestle in Full Metal Mayhem.
Borash's look of glee when he sees who is going to call Bram out is special.
Velvet Sky and Angelina Love wrestled. Outcome was obvious.
The Jarrett segment was odd. Because, well, yeah, he's Jeff Jarrett, and this is his baby, but I think there's other things going on and Karen Jarrett's bit was weird (but this is expected because ... well because) and TNA management might want to take note that Sonjay Dutt got more of a reaction than anyone else in the X-Division.
And then Vader's return got special noise. Because OMG! And I love that he's the guy they don't let Bram beat, because these things matter. And Matt Morgan is unexpectedly back!
It's all a bit odd again.
