Aussie Grand Prix Liveblogging

My baby Bottas is not racing because of a back injury. Torn back muscle leading to him being unable to get out of the car within the time limit.

The Russian Infant (I love Daniil Kvyat, but a friend couldn't remember his name and that has become his nickname) and K. Mag. don't start due to car oopses. DURING THE WARM UP LAPS!!!! (and apparently K. Mag. has left oil on the track)

In the words of someone on Twitter - "Are any cars actually planning on starting this race? #AusGP #bbcf1"

Carlos Sainz (future reference, if I don't add an identifier I mean senior, IDNGAF what the FIA say) and Jos Verstappen are apparently looking adorably nervous in the Toro Rosso garage. I love what Sainz snr said, "it's always worse when you're not in control".

Apparently Toto Wolff and Arnie are conspiring in an evil and Austrian manner. Add Niki and they'd be unstoppable.

Chaos and first lap safety car.

'Nother car out (Maldonado). Ferrari appear to have the luck of the devil.

And now Grosjean is out (down to 13 cars).

Help, they're talking about Raikonnen being one of the old men of the field. I remember him being the 'this child is too young for F1' for his generation.

Checo has had one of his moments. I know he's a bit wild, but I do like him.

Let the tyre-fu commence.

And then Ferrari fail, fail utterly at pit stops. Yet again.

Suspect that if they keep this up, Mercedes advertisers are going to ask for them to slow down because they're getting no coverage.

Oh poor baby Carlos. (Tyre refusing to come off.)

Romain Grosjean is adorable. He is being remarkably upbeat about the Lotus breaking.

Oh Max! (Verstappen's car decided to cease functioning.) Renault are generally being blamed for everything on the radio.

<3 whoever Danny Ricciardo's race control is. 'You're faster than Nasr, let's have him.'

Jos Verstappen's temper remains ... his temper.

Oh Ferrari! Kimi's car has borked. Running edit - nope, Ferrari have failed at pit-stops. Again!

I love the BBC are going 'will Claire Williams take over Williams?' as though it's not already a fait acompli. I can't imagine Frank Williams having a problem that his son and heir happens to be a daughter.

Max Verstappen is also adorable.

See BBC, Ericcson can drive.

Is that Ferrari I see on a podium? I had forgotten what that looked like. Actually, and I know they didn't do it deliberately, the way the BBC made it sound, Vettel's race strategy was the old lurking Schumacher one.

And hey, guess what, the least heralded of the rookies got the best result. Funny that.

Vettel giving it some Italian on race radio has made my heart go 'oh Seb'. I am easy. So very easy. And a Ferrari fan of the 'of course I am, I bleed red, don't I?' level of crazed.
