The British Amateur Boxing Association still appear to be trying and succeeding in their attempt at wresting the crown of the most useless and incompetant sporting federation away from the British Fencing Association but something that happened on the BBC live text service has amused me beyond words. So the live text writer is saying (or typing rather) about how much better the UK has done this time round than previously, particularly at Atlanta where GB only "got one measly gold medal". Cue text message from one Sir Matthew Pinsent, declaiming that the gold medal in question was not measly, thank you very much.

Such love for that man. Particularly after an article in one of this week's times where he was talking about how different watching sport is than doing it, because he now can't look at medal ceremonies without feeling sorry for the people in second.
