With the lgbtfest being over with for the time being, I thought I'd do a quick recommendation post. I've divided the fic into fandoms. There is no specific order to these except the first one, which is probably my favourite fic from the fest:

The Blood of Salmacis by

It's about Hermaphroditos, the Ovid version, just after the curse and I can't explain exactly how much I love the language in this, and the last line. It's so good.

Bright as the Rain in the Palm of your Hand by

I know next to nothing about this show, and that next to is that Callista Flockheart is in it. However, this is a lovely portrait of a family, a gay character coming to terms with someone he is attracted to being FTM. Failing and flailing sometimes, which makes it ever so much more realistic than when everything goes smoothly.

Wherein there is a new slayer, only he's now male. Spot on characterisation of the characters from the original and does what I would have done with the prompt, only better than I could ever have managed.

Being Liquid by

For the prompt 433. Harry Potter. Teddy Lupin/Victoire Weasley. Teddy Lupin has lived his life as male but when he becomes involved in a relationship with Victoire Weasley, who is only interested in other women, he uses his Metamorphmagus shapeshifting abilities to become female. Their friends and family believe the two are a heterosexual couple. Victoire wants to come out as a lesbian couple but Teddy is confused as to whether he is male or female, straight or lesbian.

And it does fantastic interesting things with it, because Teddy is a shape shifter and it's glorious.

Molly Walker has two Daddies by

In which Molly's new elementary school teacher is confused by her having two male guardians. I found it deeply amusing and very true to life, as someone else with "interesting" circumstances.

This features Emma, the teenage girl in Out of Time and how she's coping in London and with 21st century life. She's doing well, and I'm making this part of my fanon, totally. It's lovely, and Gwen's such a supportive faux-big sister. Love it.
