Reading 'The Mauritius Command' and I am reminded of a fundemental truth: no matter how bad it gets, at least Mrs. Williams is not my mother-in-law.

For those who haven't read any of the Aubrey-Maturin books, imagine a less hysterical version of Mrs. Bennett, crossed with both Bingley sisters.

It's also a cracking good read so far.
