New Years

New Years was spent with my Uncle, who was on good form and therefore a good night was had by all, especially once Jools Holland's Hootenanny started.

The Kaiser Chiefs have once again risen in my estimation. And them doing 'The Angry Mob' complete with drumming by the Black Watch (fie on you, Labour Government for squishing together regiments) will probably go down as this year's unforgetable moment. Especially with the drummer's grin.

David Tennant really can not dance. And seems to be a lovely drunk, ditto Kylie Minogue (who is now on the list of people I love unreservedly) and Paul McCartney and does anyone else think that the booze bill for the show must be ginormous?

And Seasick Steve was on again. He was last year's bizarre guest, but there was this massive out-pouring of absolute love so he's back. He's proper blues all the way.

Did I mention that this is the best Hootenanny in ages and just go watch it yourselves (http://www.bbc.co.uk/later/series30/hootenanny/)

But yes, this was followed by the end of Monty Python's 'Meaning of Life' which is a whole 200% better than I have been told, and I love the suiciding leaves animation. I may, in fact, prefer it to 'The Holy Grail'.

Which was followed by 'Rocky Horror' so I finally got to see the beginning of it. It's still a wonderful film.
