- The picture of Jurgen Klinsman is just because I remember this man playing, and he's far too young to be a national coach.
- I love this because it's got a goalkeeper making a save under pressure and because he's drawn/painted a flag on his cheek, and just general goalie love. 3 is for sentimental reasons, the Ecuadorian player put the Spiderman mask on in rememberance of a member of the Ecuadorian squad who died before the World Cup started whose nickname was 'Spiderman'.
- Trinidad and Tobago fans before the match, chilling and enjoying themselves. Meanwhile 5 is of Shaka Hislop, who is the man. He is the man in ways beyond the speaking of, and I'm so very happy he got to play for his country in the World Cup finals.
- The English fans going mad, I particularly like the beer spuming everywhere.
.Kim Kaellstrom, having just missed or just seen someone miss, is just generally far, far too good looking for words.
is kung-fu Crespo. Sorry, I just love the photo. Talking about Argentine footballers - 9 is another one of Maradona, because, wait I need no reason, for it is Maradona.
10. There is no way that I can't feel sorry for Cote D'Ivore, and particularly this being at the end of their match v Netherlands and this player realising they can't qualify.
11. It's a really good photo, and I'm glad Angola did do well, given that said country has a fair few problems. And how can you not like a team, who are only semi-professional at best, but who still hold Mexico, who are in the top ten in the world, to a nil all draw. For instance, the goalkeeper (12) hasn't played club football for 3 years.
- An Iranian fan, because football brings people together. See also the Czech and Ghanian fans in photo 14.
- The Ghana fans do seem very, very happy when their team score.
- Clint Dempsey after meeting Di Rossi's elbow, there's a reason Di Rossi called himself a dickhead. I just love Eddie Pope's body language in this one, 17, a general 'oh hell, here we go' look. This being even before he got sent off. Pirlo might well look worried, 18, don't draw with the US when qualification hasn't been sorted out yet.
- Brazilmania reaches as far as India.
- Not that the Brazilian Brazil fans aren't nuts anyway.
- A Korean fan watching their match against Croatia. Her expression is familiar to every fan everywhere. As is the expression on this Aussie fan - 22.
- Not even French elegance can stand in the way of the lure of football.
- Although their players aren't helping matters by being useless. Although, seriously, if I were a Korean defender I would be scared of the wrath of their goalie.
- The Swiss really do have a thing for cows.
- This is dedication to your team.
- Spanish and Tunisian fans before their match, looking like they're having fun. And also, slightly more intimately, in 28.
- There's also the tradition of people from the host nation supporting random other countries and there are Germans keeping that up, and cheering for Saudi Arabia.
- I can only assume that Voronin is hungry.
